As per latest directive received from IRCTC on 23rd April 2016, Agent Service charge has been revised to Rs 20 for non-AC class tickets and Rs 40 for AC class tickets.
Change Boarding Station option against the booked ticket is Live in BirdRes effective 27th April 2016.
Gatimaan train passengers need to report for boarding 15 minutes before the departure time of the train.
Nationality Capture:
As per update received from IRCTC on 3rd March 2016, it has been decided to capture Nationality at the time of Booking.
If Nationality is NOT Indian, then the passenger has to furnish Passport Details. No changes are made for Indian passengers.
As per new guideline from IRCTC, in case of Train Cancellations the Automatic Refund shall be processed for Confirmed/RAC Tickets, as being done for WL tickets.There shall not be requirement for Cancellation/TDR Filing for refund.
As per Railway Budget 2015 , the ARP days have been increased from 60 to 120 days w.e.f 01-April-15
RSPs should display a sign board in which there is a mention of rules & regulations, IRCTC service charges, Agent services charges and Payment gateway charges.
Certificate of Authorization issued by PSP should be displayed at the agency.
Whenever the cancellation ticket amount or the TDR refund amount is credited back in the RSP’s account, the refund should be made to the customer within 3-5 days from the date of receipt from IRCTC.
Mobile number of the customer or one of the passenger(s) while booking the ticket is mandatory. Mobile number of the passenger(s) must be indicated on ERS. The details will have to be provided to IRCTC as and when required.
ERS should be in-consonance with IRCTC ERS format. Whatever the instruction passed through webservices should be implemented without any modifications or manipulations. You are requested to strictly adhere to the instructions and the format advised by us from time to time. Any non-compliance /violation in this regards will be treated as Software Tampering /ERS manipulation and leads to penalty provisions to the extent of suspensions of services as per policy.
The Advance Reservation Period (ARP) of Tatkal scheme is reduced from two days to one day excluding the day of journey from the train originating station.
For booking Tatkal e-tickets, the passenger shall enter the ID proof type and number, which is to be used for travel. These details will be printed on the ERS/VRM as well as in the reservation chart.
During the journey, the passenger, whose identity card number has been indicated on the ticket, will have to produce original proof of identity indicated on the ticket, failing which all the passengers booked on the ticket shall be treated as travelling without ticket and charged accordingly.
Maximum of four passengers per PNR can be booked on Tatkal e-tickets.
No refund will be granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal ticket except in case of circumstance mentioned in para 2 of instructions contained in Commercial Circular no. 53 of 2006 issued vide letter no. 2006/TGI-I/20/P/Tatkal, dated 30.06.2006.
Agents will be permitted to Book only
one TATKAL ticket per train per day
(date of booking) .
Exceptional circumstances as:-
If the train is delayed by more than 3 hours at the journey originating point of the passenger & not the boarding point if the passenger’s journey originating point and boarding point are different
If the train is to run on a diverted route and the passenger is not willing to travel
If the train is to run on a diverted route and boarding station or the destination station or both the stations are not on the diverted route.
In case of non-attachment of coach in which the Tatkal accommodation has been earmarked and the passenger has not been provided accommodation in the same class.
If the party has been accommodated in lower class and does not want to travel. In case the party travels in lower class, the passenger will be given refund of difference of fare and also the difference of fare and also the difference of Tatkal charges, if any
During the booking user has to input the passenger address and the same address will display in ticket ERS (ticket voucher).

Increase in the element of concession to men senior citizens from 30% to 40% and reduction in the age limit for women senior citizens from 60 to 58 years w.e.f. 01.06.2011.
E-ticket confirmed through charting at originating station or at the previous remote location cannot be cancelled. The refund of such ticket will be processed through TDR.
Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recognized School /College for their students and Nationalized Bank Passbook with photograph will also be accepted as proof for travelling on etickets w.e.f 15-Jun-2010.
Due to new TRAI guidelines you may not get the SMS for your User Registration, Booking and Cancellation. The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
Cases of fraudulent claims of refund are liable for legal action.
As per the IRCTC guidelines, all fraudulent activities like Overcharging, booking tickets thru personal user id's, creating multiple user id's will be dealt strictly. The minimum punishment will be deactivation and also further legal action will be initiated against the agent. Please refer to
